BUILT TO PROTECT YOUR BOARDS.
Boardbags engineered to withstand every stage of the journey.
You’ve checked the forecast, packed your boards, and chased the swell. But between check-in and the coastline, baggage handlers, packed cars, and rough roads can put your boards through more than the waves ever will.
THE OCEAN ISN’T THE ONLY THING YOUR BOARDS HAVE TO SURVIVE.
Rán combines the flexibility of a traditional boardbag with reinforced protection engineered to withstand rough handling, long distances, and unpredictable conditions.
BUILT FOR THE MILES BEFORE THE WAVES.

Frequently Asked Questions

We listened to surfers, studied the market, and tested the boardbags already available. The same compromise kept appearing: better protection often meant more weight, less flexibility, or no wheels.
After a year of refining sketches and improving prototypes, we designed Rán to bring everything together: serious protection, lightweight construction, a foldable design, and integrated wheels.
No towels. No improvised reinforcement. No choosing between protection and practicality.
Just one thoughtfully engineered boardbag designed to take the stress out of travelling with your boards.
-
No. That is exactly what Rán was designed to eliminate. Its built-in protective structure protects your boards throughout the journey, so there is no need for towels, clothes, or extra foam. You can finally use that space for the things you actually want to bring.
-
Our first boardbag is designed to securely carry up to two boards ranging from 5'5" to 7'0". Its adaptable interior and integrated compression system keep different shapes and lengths firmly in place. From shortboards to fish and midlengths, Rán adjusts to your quiver.
-
Every Rán boardbag comes ready for the journey. It is constructed from durable, UV-resistant, PU-coated 600D polyester and features an integrated impact-protection system, adjustable padded straps to secure your boards, dedicated pockets for fins and accessories, built-in wheels, and a comfortable shoulder strap for airports, transfers, and every mile in between.
-
The Rán boardbag is expected to weigh approximately 6 kg. With two midlengths, fins and leashes packed inside, you should still have roughly 7 kg available before reaching the common 23 kg checked-baggage limit. That is typically enough for a 5/4 wetsuit, towels, shoes, and four to six days of clothing.
-
Yes. Thanks to its segmented sidewall protection system, the Rán boardbag can be folded and rolled up like a sleeping bag, making it easier to store when the trip is over.

Rán first came to us through a story in Issue 33.6 of The Surfer’s Journal while we were searching for a name that could capture the spirit of the brand. In Norse mythology, Rán is the goddess and personification of the sea, embodying its powerful and perilous nature.
But it was the journey behind the name that stayed with us. Scandinavian surfer Freddie Meadows discovered a remote wave in the Arctic Ocean, named it Rán, and spent nearly a decade returning through extreme cold, isolation, and unforgiving conditions to finally meet it at full force.
That spirit of exploration, perseverance, and respect for the ocean represents everything Rán stands for.
